A Cup of Sunshine

Bring Me Sunshine In Your Smile, Bring Me Laughter All The While. In This World where we live, there should be more happiness, so much joy you can give each bright tomorrow – so sang Eric Morecambe (pictured) and Ernie Wise, in their own imitable way.

Brew Me Sunshine, the café, is located in the old Visitor building. The building has been transformed from a rather dingy appearance to a bright and welcoming state of the art venue which is the home of Galloways. You can read more about Galloway's Brew Me Sunshine by clicking here. In addition to the web page link, below I've added some useful information concerning Brew Me Sunshine:

Opening Hours: 10.00am – 5.00pm

Manager: Beth Norwood

Tel: 01524 414846

The staff at Brew Me Sunshine are cheerful and greet each visitor with a smile and a friendly word. Gifted in the art of banter, they throw in jokes and chucklesome comments adding guffaw fuel to the already vibrant light hearted chat.

The atmosphere of Brew Me Sunshine is comfortable to say the least, whenever I visit it feels like I’m walking into a family’s home where I’m treated like a blood relative. In addition to this, the staff are helpful and caring, which puts the icing on an already appetising family baked cake. I haven't even mentioned the coffee and cakes that are available! Let's put it this way, they have to be seen to be believed. Take a look at the picture below and you'll see what I'm talking about:

The group we hold at Brew Me Sunshine meet each Monday from 10.00am until Midday. We are a relaxed bunch, sharing a wicked sense of humour as well as discussing the news! We also provide a listening ear to anyone who would like someone to listen. Our group is open to anyone over the age of 16 who feel isolated and alone, or even if you just fancy popping for a coffee and a quick chat, you're welcome. As a general rule, each Monday, there is a member of staff who will help, advise and encourage. If you meet the criteria and are registered with us then the staff member can also provide you with a private 1-1 consultation.

Confidentiality is key with our weekly group, we want you to feel at ease, relaxed and wanted. So, please don’t feel isolated or that you have to carry the weight of stress or depression on your own. People may come up to you and say, ‘Are you all right?’ and you say, ‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ Even though you’re not fine, you’re supposed to be fine because people expect you to be fine. At our Brew Me Sunshine Monday drop-in group, we will accept you as you are and won’t balk if you don’t feel 100%. In fact, we’ll support you through whatever storms you are going through so you won’t have to face them alone.

Come and join us on a Monday, if not for a supportive listening ear then at least come for a cup of herbal tea. The tea is a taste sensation at Brew Me Sunshine so give it a try. Find out more about our groups by visiting the Community Sessions page of Lancaster and Morecambe. We look forward to becoming acquainted with you!
